Disney posted the August pin flyers for Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Both full sheets are at the bottom with the prices and product numbers, so we'll keep this to what caught our eye.
August feels like three pin months packed into one. Alice in Wonderland's 75th anniversary takes over the middle of the month, Halloween starts before anyone has put away the sunscreen, and Digitize Disney keeps building on July's release.
The Kingdom Hearts Keyblade series is back August 4 with pin eight of twelve. Disney World also gets another Windows of Attraction release that day, which is much more our problem.
Alice in Wonderland's 75th anniversary owns August 18. The group has a mystery set, a jumbo, an LR pin and three LE 4,000 designs. The Royal Croquet Club pin is the easy winner for us, but the whole group looks good together in a way anniversary collections usually don't. Disneyland and Disney World get most of the same Alice lineup, so at least this one isn't a coast-versus-coast argument.
Digitize Disney is the continuation of July's release, and the idea goes beyond the blocky artwork. The smaller pins are pieces of one large Disney Parks map. Disney even sells a 20-by-29-inch display board with printed silhouettes showing where every pin in the series belongs, plus a Tinker Bell title pin.
August fills in more of that map. Walt Disney World spreads its new sets across August 11, 18 and 25, while Disneyland gets its next group on August 18. The jumbos work a little differently: each one turns a full park into its own map, with a character slider moving across it. August brings Disney California Adventure, EPCOT and Disney's Animal Kingdom after Disneyland and Magic Kingdom started the series in July.
The Magical Theater monthly series is on pin eight of twelve. The August pin arrives August 11 at Disneyland and August 18 at Disney World.
And then there's Halloween. The Passholder, Magic Key and DVC pins start August 4. Cats & Dogs Halloween Costumes lands August 11, Hocus Pocus gets a full group on August 25, and Disneyland closes the month with Haunted Mansion Holiday. It is still August, but Disney has never cared about that.
These are expected release dates, and Disney can change them. Disney Springs and Downtown Disney don't require park admission, which makes them the easier places to try on a Tuesday. At Disney Springs, release mornings start with the garages and rideshare loops opening at 7am, then wristbands at Lime Garage. If you have a Passholder, Magic Key or DVC discount, ask before you pay.
The recurring series above link to ParkBound Collections. That's where our Want list lives, and we'll link the rest as the August pins reach the catalog.
